Point of difference

The Old Store on Barnard is a new and refreshing take on a piece of Bendigo's heritage offering truly unique boutique accommodation.

It is the ideal property for groups to stay in and enjoy whilst visiting Bendigo for many iconic events such as The Bendigo Writers Festival, Heritage Uncorked, The Blues and Roots Festival and of course The Easter Parade just to name a few.

We are passionate supporters of local food and beverage producers so with any booking of two or more nights, you will receive a delicious gourmet basket with an emphasis on local produce. You can choose between cooked breakfast provisions or a nibbles platter of cheeses, olives, bread, dips etc and local bottle of wine.

We offer additional discounts for seniors, please ask!

The Old Store is a fabulous blend of 140 year old character with all the modern conveniences.

It is truly a new and refreshing take on Heritage accommodation with an emphasis on show casing local food and wine.

Built in the 1870's to service the booming gold town of Sandhurst (later to be named Bendigo) it stands just 30 metres from its closest mine. There are a multitude of quirk's and perks to find in the many rooms that make up this wonderfully spacious accommodation including the original kitchen mantle and stove, an internal skylight and even authentic Scottish packing boxes laid as flooring many years ago.

You will feel immediately relaxed and at ease in this warm and friendly house with its two superbly furnished living areas allowing you to spread out and enjoy your stay. To help you unwind there is a small yet diverse library of books, board games and even electronic entertainment if one must.

The Old Store is all about experiencing an escape from the everyday. It's got a cheeky sense of discovery etched into the walls and well worn floors. Sit back and enjoy a complimentary port whilst enjoying the great sound of the retro stereo, whether it be in front of the fire or outside on the spacious deck. The kitchen can live up to most demands for service especially those of the entertaining bent. However there is no pressure to cook with multiple pubs and the city centre restaurants within walking distance.
