For the most daring, take the thrilling two and a half hour Underground Adventure Tour where you venture to the heart of the mine - climbing ladders, operating mining drills and searching for gold with finders keepers. Boom! Crash! Kapow! These winter school holidays Discovery is presenting the Explosive Science Show. The mystery behind some natural, unusual and infamous real-life explosions will be uncovered. Exploding twice daily at 12noon and 2pm.
Bendigo Planetarium will also be presenting The Moon of Many Faces show. Find out more about the movements of the Moon, why the Moon seems to change shape and if there really is a dark side as the night skies open up for all to see. In the 1880's the Bendigo Chinese purchased costumes from China to parade in the Bendigo Easter Festival.
The gold bullion and silk costumes are priceless today and to celebrate the unique costume collection housed at the museum, we have created a craft program based on the design of these garments.

The winter theme for Buda is "Fancy That!". A display of many of the pieces of fine embroidery made or collected by the Leviny daughters has been assembled throughout the house by Buda's House Curator, Lauretta Zilles. Buda has adopted the practice of having a theme for seasons of the year. This Winter’s theme, “Fancy That! Textiles from the Leviny collection” will be the subject of another LEVINY PUBLIC LECTURE. Lauretta will speak to the U3A "Meet the Levinys" and trainee Buda Tour Guides about these treasures on the afternoon of July 7th at 2pm. Her assistant for the afternoon, embroidery teacher Jan Harris, will be there to answer questions regarding techniques. Your $5 entry to the lecture will also give you access to the house to see these works for yourself. Afternoon Tea follows.

Interesting collection displayed usually include- Ciols, Medals, Firearms, Pistols, Knives, Swords, Dolls, Buttons, VC Display, Pre and Post war Collections, Models, Posters, Walking Sticks Just to mention a few of the possibilities.Basically anything collectable, held and displayed by a collector. The show also this year will hold the Blue and Grey Re-enactment group giving an insight into the history of the Civil war in America.
