Bendigo's popular Life's A Dish restaurant program will be offering its next delicious course as part of Melbourne Food and Wine Festival 2010.
Each Bendigo restaurant or café participating in Life's a Dish will create an exciting new dish, using local produce of course, to be matched with a selection of Bendigo regional wines.
About Life's a Dish
The inspiration for Life's A Dish was with a tip of the chef's hat to the remarkable Buon Ricordo concept that began in Northern Italy in 1964. As part of this initiative, Bendigo's premier restaurants offer collectable plates as a souvenir of a memorable, regional meal.
Bendigo Pottery, Australia's oldest working pottery, has embraced the program and now create hand-painted ceramic plates unique to each of the participating restaurants. Naturally, the dishes are as individual as the restaurants themselves, and the lively artwork may be inspired by specialty dishes, distinctive architectural features or even nearby landmarks. The plates are available for purchase at participating restaurants for $19.95 each.
