Natural Wonders

Nestled amidst bushlands, the natural surrounds of the Heathcote region await exploration. Pink Cliffs Reserve is home to a colourful phenomenon, with spectacular gorges that were uncovered by past mining activities. Walking tracks, wildflowers and birdlife attract walkers, bike riders, picnic goers, prospectors and those looking for tranquility. Take the challenge of a bush walk to Devil’s Cave and Viewing Rock for a great view of the town.

Historic Treasures

With a rich gold mining history, there’s a wealth of stories and historically significant sites to see. Historic buildings like the courthouse have been refurbished and nearby Graytown offers evidence that the area once attracted thousands of diggers. Streets, building foundations and a cemetery remain from the former township.

Artisan Appeal

Artists, craftspeople and a stunning crop of winemaking artisans now call the region home. An appreciation of great food, wine and art has enlivened the township with events, shops, cellar doors and studio alleries. The winemaking reputation is on the worldstage, adding to the buzz.
