Pride of Place: the first 60 years of building in Bendigo and surrounds
Pride of Place celebrates the City of Greater Bendigo's impressive early growth - the commitment of our towns to become self-sustaining communities - through the structures built for public use.
The communities of the City of Greater Bendigo hold a remarkable selection of fine archtiectural buildings from the Victorian and Edwardian eras; the towns featured in Pride of Place include Axedale, Bendigo, Eaglehawk, Elmore, Heathcote, Huntly and Redesdale.
The exhibition will highlight town halls and council offices, court houses and gaols, railway stations and hospitals, post offices and fire stations, schools, churches, banks and hotels - all are structures which demonstrate the sature of a town and its sense of pride and all are home to a myriad stories related to their communities.
The Post Office Gallery is located in the Visitor Centre Building. Open 9am-5pm daily (except Christmas Day).
