Speaking of trams, Saturday will mark the first day of the Yarn Bomb Tram season. This colourful, cosy tram has become quite the tourist attraction across the winter months as it weaves its way through the Bendigo streets. Hop off at Charring Cross and meander on over to the Bendigo Community Farmers Market to stock up on fresh, seasonal produce and support our local farmers.

Shiraz Republic

Who doesn’t love a glass of red in winter? Famous for its rich and earthy shiraz but boasting plenty of wine varieties, the Heathcote wine region will be on display at over 30 locations during Heathcote on Show. Set to take place over the long weekend, you can expect to enjoy exclusive tastings, new releases, gourmet food, live music and a warm welcome from the locals.

Marimekko Design Icon 1951 to 2018 exhibition

All good things must come to an end. Don’t miss your opportunity to wander through the iconic outfits, swathes of original fabrics, homewares, sketches and other archival materials that form Marimekko: Design Icon 1951 to 2018. An Australian exclusive based at Bendigo Art Gallery until 11 June, this exhibition explores the work of the talented individuals who defined this local textile practice and created its internationally recognisable designs. For lovers of art and history, the Accent on Design and Bankrolling Bendigo: Building a City exhibitions at the Bendigo Visitor Centre are a must!
