About Barrel Tasting Weekend
Bendigo's wineries are spending the weekend of July 6 and 7 uncorking the secrets of how their wines are created.
The two-day festival gives you a hint of the mystery and romance of winemaking and the chance to taste wines maturing in barrels.
Like eating cherries from the tree or bread just out of the oven, tasting wine from the barrel is tasting the magic of winemaking.
Winemakers will take you on a tour of their barrel rooms, you’ll sample wines maturing in barrels, understand more about the winemaking process, and explore the beautiful Bendigo wine region.
Timing
Barrel tasting sessions are conducted at 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm on both days. Each session is approximately 45-60mins in duration. There is a map of winery locations below that includes the distance between each cellar door.
Transport.
Patrons must arrange their own transport between wineries. Luxury 12-seat vehicles can be booked through Wine Bank on View for hire either self-drive or with a driver. To book call Wine Bank on View (03) 5444 4655.
We encourage the responsible consumption of alcohol and recommend that if you’re planning to self-drive, choose a designated driver.

Barrel Tasting Weekend is hosted by the Bendigo Winegrowers Association. Bendigo region wineries are mostly small to mid-sized and run by the families who founded them. Nearly all grapes are picked by hand and handcrafted by the winemaker. The diversity of climate in the region plays host to a range of wine styles including sparkling wine, rosé, clean whites and bold reds.
