Unearth Central Victoria’s artisanal food & wine bounty.

Sonia Anthony, owner of nationally awarded and 'hatted' Masons of Bendigo, President of Food Fossickers & internationally experienced chef, invites you to join her on a day long personalised food and wine journey through Central Victoria.

Meet some of Masons producers who are showcased on their food and wine menus and finish the day with a Masons style dinner at Sonia's home.

This unique tour is only available for the following dates in 2018;

How the day unfolds: Meet at the Bendigo Visitor Centre at 9:30am

First stop The Bendigo Community Farmers Market, Bendigo -Allow Sonia to introduce you to some of Central Victoria’s local champions – the producers - and enjoy tastings and tips on the wide variety of seasonal produce available. Complimentary fridge bags will be provided - a taste of Cathy's triple brie and you’ll be craving to take a wheel or two home!

Transport courtesy of Mercedes Benz Bendigo is included from here until you return to the Visitor Centre in the afternoon.

B & B Basil, Bendigo -You'll stop in to meet George Bobin, owner of B & B Basil (Victoria’s largest micro green grower) with a tour of the farm and some tastings whilst Sonia collects some herbs for the evening’s dinner. Find out why you could bump into the 35 local chefs who pop in for their daily micro-greens, showcased on their Bendigo menus.

McIvor Farm Foods, Tooborac -A comfortable 40 minute drive through Axedale and Heathcote will bring you to McIvor Farm Foods where you’ll meet Farmer of the Year, Belinda Hagan. She'll take you on a full tour of the farm, followed by a delicious farm-style lunch on their farm verandah, featuring their pork, local cheese, home-made scones, pickles and breads. Not to mention Heather's gold winning fig cake! (well, i think it is). Hear all about their farming philosophy and discover why their pork, and other goodies they grow, tastes so good. Pork is available to purchase from the shop, and depending on the season, purchase plump, juicy strawberries or crunchy home grown pears.

Heathcote Wine Tasting -Meet and speak with third, second and first generation winemakers: Simon Osicka and Alison Phillips from Bull Lane and Osicka Wines. Emily McNally from Lo Stesso, Occam's Razor and Jasper Hill. Liam Anderson from Wild Duck Creek Estate and the new kid on the block Adam Foster from Foster e Rocco and Syrahmi. Discover why Heathcote has become one of Australia’s premium wine regions as you taste a number of their wines: and it's not all about Shiraz! Unearth the flavours and tastes of Heathcote’s world class smaller, independent labels. Wines will be available for purchase.

Return to Bendigo -You will be dropped back to where you started the day. Collect your car and rest up or have a pre-dinner drink at one of the many venues.

Home of Sonia Anthony, Bendigo -Allow Sonia to welcome you into her home for a truly Bendigo food and wine experience.Hear the local stories, ask the questions and immerse yourself in a unique seasonally produced feast. And at least one person will become best friends with Sonia's beagle Billie throughout the night, who just loves a sneaky little taste or two slipped under the table! Please note you will need to make your own way to Sonia's house. Sonia will provide details and transport options (1.9km from the Bendigo Visitor Centre).

There is a lovely dog at Sonia's home so if you are allergic or do not like dogs the tour may not be suitable.
