ABC Radio Melbourne and Victoria’s Evenings Program will be broadcasting live on the eve of this years Festival. Hosted by Lindy Burns and David Astle. It’s the warm-up event that gives the whole state an opportunity to listen in.
On Festival eve, at the Capital Theatre, Lindy and David will host a bevvy of talented writers from this year’s Bendigo Writers Festival program. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the hosts charming and witty, and with all in readiness for a huge weekend of events, the conversation is sure to be brilliant.
The panel of special guests includes:
• Norwegian, Polish-based Jewish musician, director and playwright, Bente Kahan;
• Poet, actor, playwright and also Chancellor of the University of Manchester, Lemn Sissay.
• Creators of a new madcap children’s book about animal mummies, The Chaser's Andrew Hansen and his partner Jessica Roberts.
• American science journalist and writer of the controversial book about toxic weedkillers, Carey Gillam.
• American scholar of religion, and author of a bestselling book about artistic resistance to violence, Sarah Sentilles.
• Writer of the international bestseller Ranger's Apprentice adventure books, John Flanagan
• British crime writer, creator of tv's Vera and Shetland series, Ann Cleeves
