Artists: Jo Jo Smith + Carl Pannuzzo.

This exciting concept combines two of Bendigo’s best attractions - its historic trams and sublime music talent. Fans can enjoy a relaxed drink on the tram, while leisurely rolling through the streets of the city as some of the Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival’s finest talent performs, up close and personal. After taking a couple of short pit stops at the Tram Depot and the Joss House, the tram then turns back towards the mine.

Two of the most soulful acts we've ever hosted will ride the rails on our March 2019 Blues Tram: Jo Jo Smith makes a very welcome return, while the legendary Carl Pannuzzo makes his Blues Tram debut.

Enjoy the sights of Bendigo's architecturally stunning CBD from on board the sensationally restored vintage W Class tram, while being serenaded by two great acts:

Carl Pannuzzo:
Vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, autodidact, songwriter and educator, is in demand nationally and internationally, performing/recording with many groups and projects as varied as Bob Sedergreen, Opera Australia, Mia Dyson, Paul Grabowsky, Vika and Linda Bull, Stephen Magnusson, Punctum Live Arts Inc., Rachel Hore, Sydney Childrens Festival, Casey Bennetto, Cirque du Soleil, Fred Smith, Wienextra, Tripod, the boîte, Stephen Taberner, George Nussbaumer, Music Outback, David Briggs, Totally Gourdgeous, Checkerboard Lounge, Acapelicans, in duo with Penny Larkins and as a soloist. As a creator, interpreter and improviser, Carl is recognized as a sensitive, dynamic and fearless singer, a quickfire musical mind and affable and engaging stage presence. Carl enjoys being a messenger for the articulate truth of music and delivers it with a balance of respect and abandon.

Jo Jo Smith:
Jo Jo is an inspirational performer generous of heart soul and musicality. Coming from a roots base of Soul Blues Funk and Jazz steeped in groove and sprinkled with good humour Jo Jo’s material ruminates on love life and all things real. No one leaves a Jo Jo Performance untouched by her vocal ability and magnetic stage presence.

In 2017 Jo Jo celebrated 50 Years of working in the music industry by doing a cracker 50 Gig tour of Australia organised and arranged by her dear friend and colleague / poet / singer /guitarist Lucie Thorne.

Festivals Jo Jo has played of late include The Mullumbimby Music Festival, Port fairy Folk Festival, Bellow Winter Fest, Bendigo Blues n Roots, Eltham Jazz Festival, Whare Flat Folk Festival, Newstead Folk Festival.
