PETstock Bendigo Pacing Cup Opens its gates for Free Entry

Bendigo Harness Racing Club will host the biggest event on its racing calendar Saturday Night, January 5th with a Lord’s Raceway program featuring the Group 2 PETstock Bendigo Pacing Cup $60,000 and Group 1 Maori Mile $50,000

The night has been deemed “Free Entry”, with adults gaining entry for a gold coin donation supporting the fantastic charity in Righteous Pups Australia.

The pacing cup over the championship distance of 2650 metre is expected to attract an even field of the state’s open-class pacers, ensuring an open betting market, whilst the Maori Mile, for the trotters, will include many of the leading trotters including some which recently contested the Interdominion 18.

Not only will there be sensational action on the track, it will be replicated by a host of off-track entertainment. A free Kid Zone has been set up including Laser Tag, jumping castle, a water slide, face painting, Hero Horses to visit, and the first 100 kids through the gates receiving a free show bag too.

Bendigo Harness Clubs General Manager Erik Hendrix said “we have a great night planned with several food trucks, live music and heaps of kids activities to complement what is set to be a great nights racing. By providing FREE entry and  supporting a wonderful charity in Righteous Pups Australia, where looking to members of the community and holiday makers to help us break our attendance record. There is plenty of lawn alongside the home straight available for family to bring a rug and be close to the action”.

The Pony Trot races will also be of great interest to the kids, with junior drivers competing in several heats and a final providing a great way for children to have fun with their pony and a fabulous way to be introduce them to the world of the trots.

Patrons will also have the opportunity to win a huge range of prizes in the Cup Field Mega-Draw, to be conducted as a sweep on the feature race, the Bendigo Pacing Cup. Prizes include a $1500 Supa IGA Strath Village Voucher, a $500 Lowes Petroleum voucher, a $500 Great Ocean Road Holidays accommodation voucher and so much more.
