There is something magical about knowing where your food comes from.

Join Masons of Bendigo hatted restaurant chef Sonia Anthony on an extraordinary excursion to some of the most outstanding food producers in Central Victoria. Starting at the Bendigo Community Farmer’s Market you will meet the producers, head to the farm gate to meet the farmers, sample Heathcote’s internationally acclaimed wine. Along the journey she will collect produce to prepare a Masons' style meal for you before returning to The Schaller Studio for the night.

What the tour includes:

- One night accomodation at The Schaller Studio, Art Series Hotel Bendigo

- Transportation to all venues throughout the day, including to dinner and returned to The Schaller Hotel after dinner

- Tour of the Farmers Market and complimentary fridge bag

- Tour and tastings at B&B Basil

- Lunch, beverages, home baked cake and tea/coffee at McIvor Farm Foods and a full farm tour with owner Belinda Hagan

- Private tour of cellar door and wine tasting by four premium Heathcote winemakers - at least 8 wines are tasted

- Masons style three course dinner, including wine and drinks at Sonia's home and the chance to meet the cutest dog ever - Billie!

Depart at 9.30am from Art Series - The Schaller Studio
First stop The Bendigo Community Farmers Market, Bendigo
Allow Sonia to introduce you to Central Victoria’s local champions – the producers - and enjoy tastings and tips on the wide variety of seasonal produce available. Complimentary fridge bags will be provided - a taste of Sue’s triple brie and you’ll be craving to take a wheel or two home!

B & B Basil, Bendigo
A quick stop in to meet George Bobin, owner of B & B Basil (Victoria’s largest micro green grower) with a tour of the farm whilst Sonia collects some herbs for the evening’s dinner.

McIvor Farm Foods, Tooborac
A comfortable 40 minute drive through Axedale and Heathcote will bring you to McIvor Farm Foods where you’ll meet Farmer of the Year, Belinda Hagan, who will take you on a tour of the farm, followed by a light lunch in their farm gate shop. Hear all about their farming philosophy and discover why their pork, and other goodies they grow, tastes so good. Pork is available to purchase from the shop, and depending on the season, purchase plump, juicy strawberries or crunchy home grown pears.

Heathcote Wine Tasting
Meet and speak with second generation winemakers:
Simon Osicka and Alison Phillips from Bull Lane and Osicka Wines. Emily McNally from Lo Stesso, Occam's Razor and Jasper Hill. Liam Anderson from Wild Duck Creek Estate and the new kid on the block Adam Foster from Foster e Rocco and Syrahmi.
Discover why Heathcote has become one of Australia’s premium wine regions. Unearth the flavours and tastes of Heathcote’s world class smaller, independent labels. Wines will be available for purchase.

Return to Schaller Studio, Arts Series Hotel, Bendigo
Time for a rest, unique Schaller activity or a slow bike ride around Lake Weeroona to work up an appetite for dinner.
